Did the merit of the death of Christ cover and include the present generation or it was for the people of that time?

The scriptures are filled with promises of life and hope for ALL mankind through the resurrection process. Chief among these is 1 Timothy 2:3-6, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have ALL men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  Who gave himself a ransom for ALL, to be testified in due time.”

Christ gave his life to redeem all mankind, those that lived and died before him, as well as all who came after. The universality of this promise is spoken of in Genesis 22:17 and in John 5:28, 29.

Genesis 28:14, “Also your descendants (the Jewish nation through his son Isaac) shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed (Christ through Isaac) all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

The Apostle John speaks of that wonderful resurrection time for all:  “Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment (judgment through a process of education).” John 5:28, 29 (NASB)

Acts 3:19-21 foretells the restitution time when all that was lost in Father Adam will be restored to all of his posterity. Adam lost life and dominion of the earth. All this is to be restored through the resurrection process. This is testified by every Old Testament prophet: “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”

We shouldn’t forget the scripture: “For as in Adam ALL die, even so in Christ shall ALL be made alive.”  1 Corinthians 15:22

Even people who lived sinfully will be resurrected. God will not forget one being. They are all in his memory. Since Christ paid the ransom for ALL, ALL MUST have a share in that ransom. True Christians will receive a heavenly resurrection, while the rest of mankind will be resurrected on the earth. They will be given an opportunity to learn righteousness in God’s kingdom. If faithful, they will be granted everlasting life on the earth.

We know what becomes of the obedient and disobedient, but there is another class, which really cannot be called obedient nor yet disobedient. I mean the irresponsible, and they who love this present world and have not even a desire to know what God requires of them, and which, in my opinion, form the vast majority of mankind even in this enlightened age (so-called). What becomes of them?

I have just lost a dear little girl who never was baptized. I am about mad with grief and sorrow. Some people tell me that she is lost to all eternity and may possibly now be writhing in eternal torture. I have called in our minister and he only shakes his head in doubt. I have also talked with ministers of other denominations and can get no consolation.
