Did Adam have a first wife before Eve? Because in Genesis 1:27 it says God created human beings, both male and female, and blessed them to have many children.

God did not create a wife before Eve. If another woman were created for Adam, how was she created? Did God take two ribs from Adam when the scriptures say that God took only one rib bone? Did this other woman have children?

Since none of us were present during creation, we must rely on what we are told in Scripture. The Bible never mentions another wife and family. Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 2:3 records the great epoch periods of creation. A detailed account of the special creation of Adam and Eve is recorded beginning in Genesis 2:4. There was no woman before Eve as Genesis 2:18 states, "The LORD God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.'” The Apostle Paul also teaches there was only one woman created for Adam in 1 Timothy 2:13, "Adam was formed first, then Eve."

When God made man in His own image, He did so with great love, wisdom and planning. Psalms 8:4-9, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: all flocks and herds and the beasts of the field, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” God is a wonderful Creator God.
